Will I keep making music regardless? Yes, absolutely. I love to make music, it is my passion and personal joy. I love learning and improving with each track I make. However, with every music related expense and every hour spent on the process of releasing a track, promoting a track, making videos, creating artwork, and so on it is hard to fight the guilt that I am doing all of this at a financial loss.

I never set out to make money from music. I had no real ambition to even release a track, thinking that nobody would like my music.  After all I write the music that I would like to listen to.  However, I am so appreciative of the positive feedback that I have had from people, the encouragement from fellow producers who spur me on, and then the wonderful feeling of having one, five, twenty, fifty, then hundreds of people listen to my music that, I must admit,  I now have the bug, the desire, a drive to make music that other people will enjoy not just me.

The support given to me through direct paypal donations is amazing. Thank you to those people who have done that.  Beyond the money, though, are the messages I get from people who say they like to listen to my music whilst jogging, whilst working at their desk, driving to work or even doing the laundry.  I love that, I truly do.  It lifts me, so much.

So, after all of that, somebody suggested that I set up a Patreon page.  For this new year of 2024 I have done that.  As of January 2024, I appreciate that I have a small audience and that things are tight right now.  I do not think, for one minute, that my Patreon page will be flooded with fans but every membership would be amazing and be equivalent to hundreds or thousands of streams per month.

As a thank you for becoming a member I will be giving away free tracks, preset packs, mixes, work-in-progress previews and so on. I am starting off with three levels of membership to see where that takes me. You can opt out again at anytime so there is no long term commitment.

Social Media

This is potentially quite a large area. Personally, at the time of writing, I do not actively use a lot of social media so this list may grow slowly.

Facebook

Facebook Page Cover: The image that sites at the top of the page, as a header image, has a minimum size of 820px x 312x. The Facebook cover image is a bit of a pain when it comes to displaying on different devices as different amount of the image shows depending on the screen resolution. Something that looks good on desktop might look terrible on mobile phone, for example.

Amazon Music

Once you claim your artist profile on https://artists.amazon.com/ you can get the chance to upload both a profile photo and a background image. You can also do additional things such as connect to a Twitch Channel and record audio messages to your fans.

Amazon Music Profile Photo: “Files must be jpeg, or png, at least 500px x 500px and no larger than 5MB. Avoid text, logos, and busy images.”

Amazon Music Background Image: Files must be jpeg, or png, at least 1920 x 1440px and no larger than 10MB. Avoid text, logos, and busy images.
