In the first of my series of “VST Mess Abouts” I mess about with Essence Plus, a neat and free synthesiser by Ronan Fed. The developer website can be found here: https://ronanfed.rf.gd/ where you will also find other free plugins. I will be messing about with some of those again soon.
Based on the presets, Essence Plus positions itself in the “trance synthesiser” camp and the preset sounds, on the whole, not only provides suitable sounds and demonstrates a really usable arpeggiator/chord tool but ends up being rather inspiring. You know that a synth is going to be useful when you instantly enjoy playing with the sounds and want to start creating a track using them then and there.
You may also watch this video on youTube where the description has time-stamps for the different preset types (such as plucks, pads, etc).
After running through the presets I decided to try making a patch of my own. See Essence Plus – Part 2.
